It will probably come as little surprise but all matches at Woodhead have been postponed this weekend due to the frozen pitches
Home matches were to include our Mens 1st XV against Pocklington (Saturday) and our Ladies 1st XV against Huddersfield Laund Hill (Sunday) but these will now be rearranged
We’ve been monitoring the pitches and the weekend forecast all week and tonight referee Graham Rackstraw was at the club to make what was a quick and simple decision
The Clubhouse is open on Saturday afternoon from 1pm and on Sunday we’ll be bustling with the Junior Christmas Parties for many of our teams

This Saturday is our last Mens 1st XV's match before the Christmas break. Brods v Pocklington will be a 2.15pm kick off and we'll be keeping a close eye on the conditions and weather forecast as we approach the weekend.
Over the past weekend, due to the freezing conditions, outdoor training and all fixtures were cancelled for every age group here at Woodhead Park.
In additional, every match in our 1st XV league across the region was cancelled, due to frozen pitches, other than Moortown v Scarborough which was relocated to Yarnbury to make use of their 4G all-weather surface.
It was highly disappointing for our 1st XV to have to drive all the way to Bridlington last Saturday, following assurances from the home side that their pitch was "playable". On arrival it was clear the 1st team pitch was frozen solid so the Brid 2nd team pitch had been marked out for the clash. Sadly over a quarter of this playing surface was also frozen so the boys had to head home.
Fingers crossed the temperatures lift in time for the coming weekend.
