On Monday 18th November we’re delighted to be holding our first ever Coaches and Team Managers Conference in the clubhouse.
We’re privileged to have so many people behind the scenes running our 19 Brods’ teams; an outstanding bunch of coaches, managers, first aiders and fundraisers and we look forward to bringing them all together for one night.
Nationally, the numbers volunteering across the sector are down as there appears to be a greater squeeze than ever on people’s time and resources coupled with seemingly limitless opportunities on leisure time pursuits and excuses to do something else.
The Brods’ successes, from the club’s formation in the 1930’s, and the birth of the junior section in the 1970’s, has been built on countless numbers of volunteers and their endeavours.
Despite a downturn in rugby participation in England, we’re delighted to have more people playing the sport at the Brods than any other time in the club’s proud 94 year history. We know that success is down to the people out there on the pitch, running the sessions and setting the cones out!
As a modern, forward-thinking club, we need to make sure all our volunteers are supported in fulfilling their roles and continued promoting participation at our community sports club.
We hope our inaugural conference will be the first of many as we look to strength the network of volunteers we have, better understand some of the frequent challenges they face and attempt to help and support them more than ever.
If you volunteer for one of our teams, or even if you’re thinking about getting involved, please join us on Monday 18th November. It’s free to attend and, thanks to our event sponsor the Community CPR Fund, there will also be food and refreshments laid on.
