To be presented next Friday at the President’s Ball

Who will you nominate for the inaugural Bruce Turner Award?
It’s almost been a year since we lost our Club President Richard “Bruce” Turner and there remains a huge void in the clubhouse where he should still be.

As a mark of respect for his decades of service as a player, coach, mentor, Junior Chair and Senior Chair; Bruce has continued to hold the Club Presidency posthumously. This Friday, the role of President passes to Clive Harris but, at the same time, we herald the arrival of the Bruce Turner Award.

Valuing and recognising our people is very important to us at the Brods. Bruce has probably championed this premise over the years more than anyone. It therefore seems only right that an award in his name should be issued every year and the clubhouse should adorn a new board listing those that have followed his lead.

The recipient of The Bruce Turner Award will be someone that has served the club with distinction for a prolonged period, who is an outstanding ambassador for the club and someone who embodies and promotes the Brods’ and England Rugby's values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship. Just as he did.

Unlike our other key awards; you can nominate who you think the recipient should be. All nominations will be reviewed next Wednesday (1st May) ready for the presentation on Friday at the Ball.
